How to remove the hard drive’s red bar alert in Windows 10 & Windows 11?

If you want to delete bars (red or blue) like these

Run regedit.exe as administrator

Open HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Classes\Drive

Change the values for both TileInfo and PreviewDetails keys by removing the phrase System.PercentFull;

TileInfo key before and after

prop:*System.PercentFull;System.Computer.DecoratedFreeSpace;System.Volume.FileSystem
prop:*System.Computer.DecoratedFreeSpace;System.Volume.FileSystem

PreviewDetails key before and after

prop:*System.PercentFull;System.FreeSpace;System.Capacity;System.Volume.FileSystem;*System.Volume.BitLockerProtection
prop:*System.FreeSpace;System.Capacity;System.Volume.FileSystem;*System.Volume.BitLockerProtection

And restart Windows. You should be able to see the absence of the color bars !

  1. This is such a good guide and thanks for it, just remember when you do this, then all of the bars are removed, so you now have to just look at the numbers of what you have, and have left of the size of your Hard Drive 🙂

  2. I have been searching high and low for this solution as it annoys the hell out of me. Again today while trying to organise files in my HDDs, I Google “disable low disk space red bar windows 10” and voilà, I found you!
    Thank you so much for your kindness and time putting this up for all who want it.
